TCM Remembers James Garner on Monday, July 28, 2014.
A fine actor and a classy man. That’s the way Andrea King remembered him.
“And so handsome!” she was quick to add.
Andrea had the pleasure of working with James on “Maverick” in an episode entitled “Two Tickets to Ten Strike,” and they both appeared in the feature film “Darby’s Rangers” from Warner Bros. This was one of his first leading roles on the big screen, and although they shared no scenes together, Andrea visited with him at length while on the set. He was a bit nervous about the project, but very excited, too.
Turner Classic Movies will be airing a day-long tribute to James Garner, including the film “Darby’s Rangers” with Andrea King.
Here’s the announced lineup (all times are East Coast):

RIP, Mr. Garner.
What? No ‘Great Escape’ in this movie line-up?
I agree, Scott, but he made a lot of wonderful films, and I’m sure it was a tough decision! I’m glad they’re including so many. Often, they just air three or four, enough for an “evening’s worth.” This is a really nice schedule that shows off his range as well as longevity.
